FIFA Shame: Ramos and Marcelo enter best lineup of the year, Robertson and Arnold left out

Marcelo and Sergio Ramos were put in the ‘FIFPro World XI’ squad, while Liverpool duo Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were left out, which makes no sense.

For many footballers, The Reds’ doubles are the best defenders currently in the world, but left out of the best lineup of the year.

The Brazilian and Spaniard were voted by professional footballers for the lineup of the year despite having terrible statistics last season.

The two players helped Liverpool win their sixth Champions League title, beating Tottenham Hotspur in the Madrid final, winning the European Super Cup against Chelsea and finishing second in the Premier League with 97 points.

Alexander-Arnold was also part of the England squad that won third place in the Nations League this summer.

Ramos and Marcelo were not even close to their highest form last season, having been eliminated in the 1/8 final of the biggest club competition in Europe and finishing third in La Liga.

The Liverpool duo provided 23 assists for their team-mates in the 2018/19 edition as they lost their English league title to Manchester City by one point.
