Guardiola after the victory against Arsenal: How good it is to win 1: 0 sometimes
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is very pleased with his side’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday, saying he enjoyed a minimal triumph at the Emirates.
He praised his players for their fighting qualities in their 18th consecutive Premier League victory.
Raheem Sterling’s early header was enough for Man City to earn three points and increase their lead to 10 points at the top of the table against rivals Manchester United and third-placed Leicester City.
City, however, was able to win the match with a deeper score because it created many other opportunities.
“It is very difficult to play against Arsenal. We knew it would be one of the most difficult matches against them but we scored a goal early and controlled the game,” said Guardiola.
“Of course we were able to score the second and third goals, but they defended very well. You can’t win every game 2:0, 3:0 or 4:0. How good it is to win 1: 0 sometimes,” he added.
