Guardiola reacts after the loss against Manchester United
Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City should see the positive things from the 21 wins in a row, instead of focusing on the loss against Manchester United in the Premier League derby on Sunday.
Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw scored for United to interrupt Guardiola’s 21 wins in a row, causing his first defeat after 28 games without a loss.
City had not been defeated since November 2020, when Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham beat them 2: 0.
But that defeat is not expected to have an impact on Guardiola’s efforts to return the Premier League trophy to the Etihad, as City continue to lead with 65 points after 25 games.
“We will be the news because we lost. But the news is 21 wins in a row”, said Guardiola after the match.
“There are still 30 points in the game and we have to start winning again. This is football. It happens sometimes.” he added.
