Guardiola’s mistake, forgets which team he leads

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola remains ashamed after forgetting which club he leads after his win over Burnley.

Manchester City reduced Liverpool’s lead in the Premier League table to eight points after an impressive win at Turf Moor.

Gabriel Jesus scored twice for the reigning Premier League champions, with Riyad Mahrez and Rodri also finding the goal.

Rodríguez’s beautiful goal was just the second of his career with Manchester City after the transfer of the 23-year-old from Atletico Madrid.

After the match, Guardiola was asked about the Spaniard’s performances in his debut season, but the coach’s praise for the player remained in limbo as Guardiola confused the name of the club he runs.

“He has adapted to the league perfectly. I think Bayern Munich… Bayern… Manchester City bought it…. Bayern Munich? What the hell? I don’t know what I was thinking! I think Manchester City have bought him a great player for the next few years.
 
Guardiola’s gaffe comes amid speculation he will return to the post of coach of Bayern Munich, where he had spent three years before joining Manchester City.
