Harry Kane must leave Tottenham to win trophies, says Ferdinand who did the same when he swapped Leeds for Manchester United.

Harry Kane has been urged to think about his future by Rio Ferdinand.

The Tottenham striker has scored 171 goals since breaking into the Spurs team in 2014, but is yet to lift any silverware.
And Tuesday’s 7-2 thrashing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League served as a reminder of how far Tottenham could be from ending their 11-year trophy drought.

Ferdinand quit Leeds for Manchester United in 2002 and went on to enjoy a trophy-laden career at Old Trafford.

It wasn’t popular with the Elland Road faithful and the former England defender believes Kane may have to do the same.Ahead of Tottenham’s drubbing to Bayern, he told BT Sport: “What are you in the game for? Are you in the game to be a one-club man or to win trophies? Do Spurs look like a team capable of winning trophies? I don’t think so.

“They were a better team a couple of years ago.“Leeds is a similar example, I was maybe a year or two younger but I was in a team at a Champions League semi-final, nearly won the league, but I thought I had a better chance elsewhere and I had the opportunity to go.

“I made a very quick decision to go and win trophies.
