‘I did not join Barcelona to win titles’ – Griezmann reveals reasons for leaving Atletico
Antoine Griezmann has insisted he has not left Atletico Madrid to win the Champions League or other trophies with Barcelona, but to learn, as he has said, a new philosophy.
In an interview with UEFA, the French striker talked about his former clubs Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid, the new Barcelona club and other things.
He stressed that the reason he had decided to move to Barcelona was the Catalan team’s style of play.
“I didn’t leave Atletico to win the Champions League or to win more titles. I came to Barcelona to learn a new style of play, a new philosophy and to learn in person,” said Griezmann.
“My intention was to learn something new. A new style in a club that sees football differently, because Atletico can win the Champions League in any season,” he added.
