Kante and Mendy are included in the Chelsea squad for the Champions League final
The midfielder and goalkeeper will further strengthen the Blues squad as they had injury problems in recent Premier League games.
Injured Chelsea, N’Golo Kante and Eduard Mendy are expected to be part of the squad for the Champions League final after they managed to be on the London Blues squad. The appearance of the players against Manchester City has been in doubt due to the problems they have had with fitness and two minor injuries in the last two games of the 2020/21 season in the Premier League.
But, according to manager Thomas Tuchel, both Kante and Mendy have made positive progress in recovering from injuries and can play in Lisbon. “N’Golo looks good and I hope he stays that way until Saturday,” said Tuchel as he announced the 25-man squad that will travel to the Portuguese capital.
“Edoi has significantly improved from the pain he suffered from the injury and now he is fine,” he later added for the goalkeeper, “We hope he returns. If he is ready, he will play.”
