Koeman: Barca need Messi in top form against PSG
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has called on captain Lionel Messi to make another top-class appearance in Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi scored two spectacular goals in Barca 5: 1 victory over Alaves in La Liga and was selected the player of the match for the amazing performance he made.
The Argentine striker has scored 15 goals in La Liga so far this season and is just one behind Atletico Madrid’s Luis Suarez.
Koeman expects Messi to make a similar appearance against PSG in the first match of the 1/8 finals in the Champions League on Tuesday.
“Messi is focused and excited. He is happy because he has been very effective in front of the gate lately.” said Koeman.
“It creates space for other players on the field. He has a great vision of the game.” he added.
