Laporta: “Messi can leave whenever he wants, unfortunately”
Joan Laporta is present in the media and does not hesitate to talk about Messi’s stay at Barcelona.
A few days ago he issued a strong statement, stressing that the Argentine will leave if Laporta himself is not elected president of the Catalans.
The presidential candidate has also spoken about coach Ronald Koeman, about whom he speaks only kind words.
“The proposal we will make to Messi will be viewed with the will to accept it. The economic offers of state clubs are very important. The best thing for Messi is to stay. You know what our relationship would be like and how I would run the club. Players know that the day they leave they will do it from the front door, as it should.
Messi can leave whenever he wants, unfortunately, as his contract expires. I will make all proposals, as far as financially possible, to continue with us. He wants the titles and I will try to show him love,” Laporta told El matí de Catalunya Ràdio.
