Lille beat PSG and takes the lead in Ligue 1
Lille defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1: 0 in a direct duel for the head of Ligue 1, breaking three points away from the reigning champion.
Jonathan David scored Lille’s only goal and great triumph at the Parc des Princes in Paris on Saturday.
David scored after an assist by Jonathan Icone in the 20th minute, to send Lille to the top of the table in the French elite league.
This was the second loss in the last three games for Mauricio Pochettino’s team, which caused it to fall to second place.
PSG have suffered eight losses in 31 games so far in the league, unusual for the French champions.
Moreover, this defeat of PSG comes before its first quarterfinal match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.
