Jesse Lingard has explained why he decided to join West Ham in January, insisting that at Manchester United he was not given the opportunity to play last season.

He added: “After the quarantine I returned as one of the players in the best physical shape on the United team but I was not given the opportunity I was expecting. I was there all the time and I did not play despite doing extra exercises.”
