Liverpool, among potential opponents of Real Madrid in 1/8 of the final
Liverpool secured the qualification in the Champions League qualifying round on Tuesday, becoming one of the clubs that could be drawn to play against Real Madrid in the 1/8 final.
Los Blancos have qualified for the Champions League knockout stage as the second best club in the group after Paris Saint-Germain. This puts the Madrilen at risk of facing another elite group in the next round.
Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Juventus are among the clubs that have already qualified as winners of the group and Real Madrid could face either of them in the next Champions League stage.
Barcelona also qualified as the winner of the group, but the Catalans could not face Real Madrid in the 1/8 final as the rules of the competition state that two clubs from the same country cannot face in the righteous 16th round.
Real Madrid will face Club Bruges on Wednesday and they will have to wait until Monday to learn the first opponent in the knockout stage of this Champions League season.
