Liverpool star: We played much better than Real Madrid
James Milner has said that Liverpool was significantly better than Real Madrid on Wednesday night, although the quarter-final match ended in a goalless draw and made Real Madrid advance to the semi-finals thanks to a 3-1 victory in the first leg at home.
Seeking to draw positive things from a disappointing result, the veteran midfielder said that the appearance and efforts against Madrid will help the Reds secure a place in the top four in the Premier League.
But Milner acknowledged that Liverpool must not continue to lose chances in front of the gate, as they did against Madrid.
“Of course we were a better team. We did enough to win the game.” said Milner.
“The appearance, the intensity and the desire were good. The positive thing from this match was that we are creating chances.” he added.
