Liverpool will start the new season without Mohamed Salah

Liverpool could be without Mohamed Salah for the start of next season, as Egypt has announced that it intends to invite him to the national team that will participate in this summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The football competition in these games takes place between the U23 national teams, but every state lives to have up to three players older than the allowed age in the team.

The Olympic Games will be held from July 23 to August 8, while the 2021/22 season in the Premier League is scheduled to start on August 7.

This means that Salah would be absent in Liverpool’s preparations for the new season and in the first weeks of the new season in the Premier League.

“Egypt U23 team will be led by Mohamed Salah and Mohamed El-Shennawy along with another goalkeeper,” said Egypt U23 coach Shawky Gharib.

“Salah is one of the most important players in the world right now and it is normal that the Egyptian national team will call him,” he added.
