Luka Modric becomes the player with the most appearances of all time of Croatia
Luka Modric became the player with the most appearances of all time in Croatia after the 1-0 victory against Cyprus in the qualifying match of the World Cup “Qatar 2022”.
Modric equaled Darijo Srna’s record earlier this week and he broke the defender’s record on Saturday making his 135th appearance for his country.
The Real Madrid midfielder has become one of his country’s best players since winning his first game in March 2006.
Modric International Career
Since making his debut in 2006, Modric has continued to play 135 times for Croatia, scoring 16 goals while playing in three European Championships and three World Cups.
The midfielder’s best time came in 2018 when he led Croatia to their first World Cup final, where they were defeated 4-2 by France.
However, Modric won the Golden Ball as the best player of the World Cup and would later also win the biggest individual award, the Golden Ball.
