Mbappe: I always tell myself that I am the best
Kylian Mbappe has admitted that every time he goes on the field he tells himself that he is the best, better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, in order to overcome any challenge he faces.
Despite being just 22 years old, the Paris Saint-Germain striker already has 10 domestic trophies, including four Ligue 1 titles, plus was the winner of the 2018 World Cup with France.
“Of course [I have an ego], it’s important because when you are in the wild, no one else will push you,” Mbappe told RMC Sport.
“You have to convince yourself that you are capable of knocking down mountains. People do not understand the ego, but when you are not well there is no one who will come to your house to tell you that you can do it. It’s just you and your mindset. It’s just you. You need to convince yourself that you are capable of doing great things. Every time I go on the field, I always tell myself that I am the best and yet I have played where Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were. They are better players than me, they have done a billion things more than me.”
