Messi and Liverpool are no longer how they used to be

Former Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Costacurta has explained why Leo Messi is no longer the same and has advised Liverpool to take care of Leipzig.

The Champions League is expected to return next week and Costacurta has shown what he expects from the best clubs in Europe. The former Italy defender has won five important trophies during his career.

Barcelona will play against PSG, who will be without the injured Neymar who will be missing in both games.

“The match will be equal without the Brazilian.” Costacurta told Sky Sport Italia.

“I think PSG would have an advantage over Barcelona with Neymar. But now I expect to see two equal matches.” he continued.

Has Leo Messi been affected by rumors of his contract extension?

“I think so. He has shown this, he has fallen into shape, he is no longer the same he used to be, it is impossible not to think about the new contract and that certainly affects.”

What do you think will happen in the Liverpool-Leipzig match?

“The Germans know how to be strong. Liverpool have already lost five games this season. Liverpool has changed, I do not know if this has to do with the pandemic or because of the stadiums without the fans. They are not the same team as they used to be.”

“A few months ago they looked like the best team in Europe, much better even, but now they do not seem to have that energy as they had before.”
