Messi: I didn’t ask for Neymar’s signing, I don’t know if Barcelona did everything for his return
Barcelona captain Lionel Messi thinks the club could have done a bit more to bring Neymar back to the Camp Nou, but according to him they could fight for all the titles without the Brazilian.
With negotiations ongoing until the final hours of the transfer deadline, no agreement was reached and Neymar will stay in Paris Saint-Germain for the foreseeable future.
“I wish Neymar had reunited with our club,” Messi initially told Catalan newspaper Sport.
“Honestly, I don’t know if Barcelona did everything possible to secure his return.”
“However, it is certainly true that negotiating with PSG is not easy.”
“On a sporting level, Neymar is one of the best in the world.”
