Official: Inter, the new champion of Italy, ends the 9-year dominance of Juventus

Inter have been declared champions of Italy for the 19th time in the club’s history, ending a long nine-year dominance of Juventus.

Antonio Conte’s Inter won the title in the 2020/21 season also mathematically, after the draw of Atalanta 1: 1 with Sassuolo on Sunday.

Inter beat Crotone 2-0 on Saturday, aware that Atalanta’s failure to beat Sassuolo the next day would make them Italian champions, four games before the end of the season.

The Nerazzurri have collected 82 points at the top of the table in Serie A, 13 more than Atalanta in second place and Milan in third place.

Therefore, the players started the party on Saturday evening and will continue today when they are officially the champion of Italy for the 19th time in the history of the club.

This is Inter’s first title since the 2009/10 season, when it was last won under Jose Mourinho.

While, for Conte this is the fourth title in his career as a coach, the first with Inter, after he had won three others with Juventus.
