“Phillips is better midfielder than Xhaka”
‘There’s a lot better than Xhaka that Arsenal need,’ says Whelan.
Leeds talent Calvin Phillips is “a better midfielder than Granite Xhaka”, says Noel Whelan, while borrower Ben White is another to perform at the Gunners.
English legend does not like the game of Granite Xhaka.
“Arsenal have neither the right defensive midfielder nor the ball defender,” Whelan told Football Insider.
“If Phillips and Ben White were at Arsenal, they would improve the team.”
“They would be part of the Arsenal team. Phillips is a better midfielder than Granit Xhaka, and White is a better quarterback than anyone they have – David Luiz, Socrates, Rob Holding, Callum Chambers.
“I am surprised that Lucas Torreira has not played more for Arsenal, perhaps not disciplined enough.”
