Pirlo: Champions League matches are made for Ronaldo
Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has every hope in his team’s superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, to achieve another overturn in the Champions League, tonight against Porto.
Juventus lost the first match 2: 1 in Portugal and hosts Porto in Turin with the aim of reversing the result in order to secure a place in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Pirlo rested Ronaldo in the Whites’ 3-1 win over Lazio on Saturday in Serie A and says the Portuguese is ready for the challenge with his homeland club.
Ronaldo is known for his many goals and great games at this stage of the competition, so Pirlo believes he will make a difference again to help Juventus move on.
“These kinds of matches are made for Cristiano and he is motivated and has been able to rest for a few days,” Pirlo said before the match.
“It is a decisive match, it is like a final, but it will be the same for Porto. “We have to reverse the negative result from the first match, we have to give everything of ourselves,” he added.
