Portugal national team’s ignorant post when Messi wins ‘The Best’

A few minutes after Cristiano Ronaldo came third in FIFA’s ‘The Best’ competition, the Portugal national team has made an interesting response.

The Portuguese Football Federation lost no time in responding after Lionel Messi grabbed the Player of the Year award on Monday night.

The Juventus star who won the FIFA Grand Prix in 2016 and 2017 was third this year behind Argentine and Virgil van Dijk.

Just minutes after the 32-year-old won the award at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Portugal’s official Twitter page has left an interesting headline.

“Best” is the Portuguese inscription for their captain.

For the second year in a row, the 34-year-old did not attend the FIFA ceremony but was selected to the lineup of the year.
