Ronaldo returns Juventus to the Champions League with two late goals against Udinese
Cristiano Ronaldo has returned Juventus to the top four of Serie A with two late goals, in the victory of the whites with a return of 2: 1 against Udinese on Sunday.
Ronaldo scored two goals within six minutes at the end of the second half at the Dacia Arena, earning the full points to Juventus, as Nahuel Molinae had given Udinese the lead early in the first half.
This victory brings Juventus to third place in the table with 69 points, as much as Atalanta have in second place and Milan in fourth place.
Napoli falls to fifth place with two points less, followed by Lazio with 64 points but minus one match.
Udinese, which ranks at the bottom of the table with 39 points, will leave the stadium disappointed with the opportunities missed and especially with the failure to defend the result in the last moments.
Molina gave the home side the lead in the 12th minute, scoring from close range after a fantastic pass from Ridrogo De Paul that caught Juve’s defense by surprise.
But a penalty in the 83rd minute, when De Paul manually stopped the ball hit by Ronaldo during a free kick, changed things radically.
Ronaldo scored from the penalty spot, before beating goalkeeper Scuffet with his head in the 89th minute, to complete Juve’s comeback.
Next week, Juventus will face Milan in a direct fight for the top four.
