The dismissal of Sarri cost Juventus 17 million euros
The dismissal of Maurizio Sarri after only one season and keeping him on the payroll will cost Juventus 17.3 million euros.
According to Calcio e Finanza, which analyzes club accounts, the cost of coach Sarri’s dismissal is even higher than previously thought.
He was sacked on August 8, 2020, just days after winning the Scudetto in his debut edition, to be replaced by Andrea Pirlo.
By closely inspecting the documents, Calcio e Finanza has found evidence that Juve will have to continue to pay Sarri and his staff 15.4 million euros until the contract expires in June 2022.
This is not all, as there are other costs related to Sarri worth 1.8 million euros.
This brings the total cost of early discharge to 17.3 million euros if it reaches its natural completion in June 2022.
However, there is a clause allowing Juventus to finalize the 2.5 million deal in June 2021.
