The European Super League was officially created in the early hours of Monday morning, despite harsh criticism and negative comments.

The newest European competition published a statement announcing the formation of the league.

Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez is expected to be the first president of the Super League.

The Super League was formed by 12 major Spanish, English and Italian clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, ??Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Arsenal, Chelsea, Inter, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.

It is expected to be joined by three other permanent member clubs in the coming days.
