The legend, Fernando Hierro: Real Madrid must sign Haaland and Mbappe

Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro has said his former club should sign the two big world stars, Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe this summer.

Haaland has fallen on the radar of Real Madrid after a great start to his career at Borussia Dortmund, while Paris Saint-Germain striker Mbappe has long been a potential target for the Spanish giants.

It is reported that Los Blancos will try to sign one of the two stars later this year, as Zinedine Zidane seeks to strengthen his attacking ranks.

But former club captain and legend Hierro sees no reason why his former club could not transfer both players.

Hierro, who played over 500 games for the Kings at the height of his career as he won five La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies, gave the comments to Radio Marca.

“If I were at Real Madrid, I would sign both Haaland and Mbappe,” said Spaniard Hierro.

How much would Haaland and Mbappe cost?

Haaland moved to Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020 for the bargain price of €20 million, but his shares have since risen.

The 20-year-old has scored 49 goals in his first 49 games for Dortmund, and recent reports have suggested he is now valued at more than 80 million euros.

Mbappe, meanwhile, is currently the second most expensive player in history, having been bought by Monaco in a €145 million deal in 2017 – which included €35 million in bonuses.

Like Haaland at Westfalenstadion, the Frenchman’s value has grown at the Parc des Princes as he helped the French champions win three consecutive Ligue 1 titles and reach the Champions League final, while also becoming a World Cup winner with France.
