Xavi is fantastic also as a coach, he wins a trophy
Xavi Hernández continues to excel as a coach, even though he has a relatively short time in charge of a team.
In just over a year and a half on Al Sadd’s bench, he has already managed to collect five trophies with the Qatar club.
The latter won this Friday, after triumphing in the Prince Cup final against Al Duhail (0-2) thanks to the killer instinct of striker Baghdad Bounedjah, who was the author of both goals.
Xavi has defeated Al Duhail in three finals since becoming Al Sadd’s coach. Soon the team led by Xavi will raise the title of champion for the second year in a row. If Umm Salal beats at home on March 7, Al Sadd will be declared the mathematical champion.
Xavi could win another title, as he is also in the Emir Cup while in the quarterfinals, on March 3, he will face Al Gharafan. If he reaches the final and wins the trophy, he would be seventh in two seasons, a record virtually unattainable.
The only trophy Xavi misses as coach at Al Sadd remains the Asian Champions, a competition where as a footballer he has played on two occasions until the semi-finals.
