Zidane: The future? I will talk to Real Madrid later
The Frenchman did not talk much about his future at the press conference.
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is expected to step down from his position in the summer, but he has shown nothing after Los Blancos’ last game on Saturday.
Zidane’s team won the reversal against Villarreal 2-1, but Atletico Madrid managed to win as guests of Real Valladolid securing the title for Diego Simeone’s team.
“We congratulated Atletico, who deserved to be champions because they were at the top of the table all the time,” Zidane told a post-match press conference.
“But the most important thing about what our players did tonight. I will talk to the club about my future here later.”
“I thank the fans because they have always supported this team from abroad. I think everyone is proud of the players, because they gave everything. It was not easy to win against Villarreal. It’s a day where we have to congratulate the whole team. This is all”.
Zidane’s future was a hot topic during the press conference but he made it clear that he would sit down with the club to talk in the coming days. Now we have to be calm and talk about this in the coming days,” he said.
“In a little while we will see what happens. Not only for me, but with all the things that will happen to the club for next season.” When asked about his mood, the Real Madrid coach said he was “sincere”.
