Zidane vows that Real Madrid will fight until the end for the title in La Liga
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has vowed that his team will fight to the end for the title in La Liga, after Sunday’s draw with leader Atletico Madrid.
Luis Suarez gave Atletico the lead early in the first half at Wanda Metropolitano, however Benzema avoided losing to Real and did not allow the rival and leader to break away even more in the title race by scoring the equalizer in the final moments.
Atletico remains the leader now with 59 points, three more than Barcelona in second place and five more than Real in third place. Diego Simeone’s team, however, has played one game less than its two rivals and consequently has the opportunity to increase its lead over them at the top of La Liga even more.
Zidane said after the match the aim of the reigning champion is to fight to the end against the city rival.
“Our goal is to continue. We know that there are many matches left, so we will fight until the end”, said Zidane.
“Everything can always change,” he said. We are doing things well and we can improve. We will do that. I’m proud of all my players. We are united and we will fight until the end,” he added.
