Zinedine Zidane’s future at Real Madrid is in the air
With just a few weeks left until the end of the season, the future of Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is in the air.
The Frenchman has a contract until 2022, but has never talked about next season.
This is quite common in the way he works, but doubts that this season may be the last for him at the club have grown recently.
There is pressure from two teams for Zidane to leave for new magic. One is the French national team, which has openly acknowledged their interest in when Didier Deschamps leaves his coaching position.
The other team is Juventus. The Italian giants, a former Zidane club, are in a bad moment, having just been eliminated from the Champions League by Porto and out of rhythm in Serie A. Andrea Pirlo, the man who currently runs the club, is in danger of not getting a second season in charge of the team from Turin.
In the midst of all this noise, the candidates for Zidane’s position in Madrid have become visible.
The highlight is Raul, who is having a great season with Castilla with some in Madrid looking to see him promoted to the first team.
Joachim Low, who will leave the German national team after Euro 2020, is also an opportunity.
It has been a difficult season for Real Madrid, and part of the club wondering why he has not been able to get the most out of some of their promising young talent. But overall, his status in the Spanish capital is secure. If he leaves, it is expected to be his decision.
